Hill chronicle
The first ski jumping hill at Bad Mitterndorf was constructed in 1908 and distances could be reached here 30 meters.
W 1947 In 2006 the ski club WSV Tauplitz/Klachau started preparations and plans for the construction of a ski jumping hill at Tauplitz.
finally from 8 do 12 brand 1950 the first ski flying competitions were held. The first jump on the new hill was made by the local ski jumper Hubert Neuper senior, reaching 96 meters. The winner of the first flying competition was Sepp “Badly” Bradl, and watched the competition 10 000 viewers. Next year, after a little reconstruction, jumped here 115 meters.
In February 1953 the first international ski flights were organized, week of flights. The building was rebuilt for the occasion. W 1975 The first World Cup was held here.
It was won by the Czech K. Kodejska. At the World Cup in 1986 the hill was reconstructed again. Then Austrian Andreas Felder won, which leap into the distance 191 m set a world record. Ten years later his compatriot, Andreas Goldberger, he won the trophy again in Kulm.
Today the record stands 205 meters. The next Ski Flying World Championships will be held in Bad Mitterndorf / Tauplitz w 2006 year. Another modernization is planned.
Certainly, ceramic tracks on the inrun and plastic mattings will be laid, so for the first time we will be able to watch summer jumps on “mammoths”.
