Nordic Walking
Nordic Walking it is a march with specially designed sticks. Nordic Walking is a natural movement activity involving the lower limbs, shoulder girdle and arms! It is a very young sport discipline, but it already has a large following. To cultivate it, you only need one that is appropriate to the weather conditions, sport shoes, two poles and a bit of time to walk on any terrain (mountain trail, path in the park, Beach, itd). This sport can be practiced by almost everyone. The Nordic Walk originated in the Scandinavian countries. Currently, it has gained popularity in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
In Poland it is less popular, but we'll see what happens over time. Regular walks with poles bring not only relaxation to the trainees, but they affect the firmness of the body, muscle strengthening and general improvement of physical condition. Additional “for nog” is extremely helpful in physical activity for elderly people suffering from stiff joints.
Benefits of practicing Nordic Walking:
* Walking with sticks burns more calories than walking, and even running (even to 400 kcal/hour)
* we strengthen the leg muscles, shoulder girdle and arms
* we increase the endurance of the involved muscles
* we reduce the pressure on the tibia, knees, hips and back
* poles allow us to take a more dynamic walk in the mountains (we feel safer)
* we prevent stiffening of the joints
