Warming up before training
Warming up is an essential element before starting training in all sports. Absolutely, so we should also remember about it in bodybuilding. In principle, it is not recommended to engage in any intense physical activity without first warming up, because even an ordinary game of volleyball or jogging can turn out to be unpleasant and dangerous for us, if we expose the body to the risk of making sudden movements associated with muscle contractions, without giving them the opportunity to properly prepare and warm up beforehand.
Some bodybuilders make the wrong assumption, that only after a long break in the gym is it necessary to warm up the muscles. On a daily basis, looking forward to getting to the right point in the training plan, they force their muscles to bear an enormous load, about which effort they were in no way forewarned in advance. However, such an assumption should be abandoned as soon as possible and the principle adopted, that in no other way we are able to help our muscles and prepare them for a collision with a difficult and exhausting workout, just like warming up. It's not about that anymore, let's call it, muscle comfort, with that fact, that disregarding the basic principles of bodybuilding training can cost us dearly, because, without warming up before exercising the muscle, we can get a serious injury. And this, in turn, can close us for a long time any access to the gym. the most important, What do muscles gain from warming up?, it is, it raises their temperature, which results in their greater blood supply and a reduction in the viscosity of contractions. Our entire muscular system is geared to effort, tendons become more flexible, stretchy, generally gaining strength. Our nervous system receives an earlier signal about the upcoming physical effort, thanks to which the whole body and its musculature work with greater efficiency. The merit of the warm-up is also in this, that it slows down the deposition of lactic acid in the muscles, which makes our training more effective and longer. In terms of warming up, a bodybuilder may opt for aerobic exercise, like running, skipping rope, rower. It is also important to stretch and warm up smaller parts of the body, such as wrists or neck.
As you can see, we should always remember about the warm-up as a fundamental part of each subsequent training. Warming up gives our muscles the confidence to succeed and take full advantage of the opportunities, that comes with each exercise performed after it.
