Position
Hakuba is located in the northern part of the island of Honshu, 200 km north of Tokyo and 45 km from Nagano, on a hill with a height of 820 do 1620 meters.
Ranga
Winter sports tourist center. W 1998 The Olympics were hosted by the cities of Hakuba and Nagano. Continental Cups and World Cups are regularly held here, and the Summer-Grand-Prix.
Atmospheric conditions
A favorable wind usually blows here only until noon. Then it gets stronger and blows from different directions, so, that often competitions have to be canceled due to the safety of the players.
Partly, the reason for the rapid changes in the wind lies in the geographical location of Hakuba, on an island surrounded by the sea. Accurate prediction of the weather here borders on a miracle…
