Stretching, that is muscle stretching
In bodybuilding, stretching is second, next to the warm-up, element, which should be a prelude to proper training. Basically, stretching consists of any stretching exercise, which we perform after appropriate warming up of muscles and body. In addition, it also turns out to be a great solution at the end of training. It is with the help of stretching that we can calm our body, tired of working hard and intensively to do exercises.
We can stretch our body using the so-called static method. Its course and action is related to slow and careful, but as much as possible, stretching all muscle groups. I mean the maximum, when we encounter resistance, without feeling any pain. Pain proves that we have exceeded what is possible for us to achieve, at the moment, degree of muscle stretch. On point, where during stretching, the muscle resists, pause for a while, then return to position, where we came from. After a short rest, we do the same exercise again. Whenever, when we repeat the exercise, we should try to put emphasis on increasing the range of motion, so as to gradually exceed the limit of muscle resistance. Be careful and don't force anything, because proper stretching should not hurt us in any case. Properly carried out by a bodybuilder, stretching is a pass to effective and long-term training. Stretching directly affects the increase in the possibility of movement in individual joints, and this allows for more effective work on the development of muscles. Also, with stretching, our tendons get the best opportunity, to get stronger and stronger. The increase in their strength equals the increase in the possibility of achieving the faster and greater increase in muscle mass. Muscles during stretching, as well as during the entire warm-up, are properly supplied with blood and warmed up, and hence, they oxygenate better, to recover more easily. After training, stretching seems so valuable also because of the need to relax the muscles.
So we see, that bodybuilding highly values stretching. So self-respecting bodybuilders should not underestimate its huge impact on efficiency, correctness and safety of work on the development of muscle mass. Weight training without prior and final muscle stretching, and sometimes also performed during weight training, it simply cannot be considered correct.
